2017 edition


The 45th edition of the Preston Street Criterium took place on Sunday, June 18, 2017, and this year’s event kicked off the inaugural Ontario Cup Crit series!

The Preston Street Criterium features a full day of Ontario Cycling Association-sanctioned racing showcasing everything from some of the top professional cyclists in the region competing for cash to youngsters who dream of emulating them one day.

Speaking of children, the ever-popular kids’ races include events for every age from under 5 to 14 years old. To enter, either go to the online registration page come to the corner of Beech and Preston before 12 p.m.. Entry is just $10 and proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).

For all other races, you must register online before the deadline. Note, there will be discounts available for women’s teams that enter three riders or more, or men’s team that enter five riders or more! There will be no race-day registration.

Once again, Rogers Television is on hand to cover the racing. The coverage will be broadcast on a later date, to be announced.

And in a tradition kept going thanks to the support of Kichesippi Beer, the elite women’s and elite men’s winners are awarded their weight in beer on our giant scale!

  • 10 a.m.: SENIOR 4 MEN, MASTERS 3 MEN, CADETS (45 min. + 5 laps)
  • 11 a.m.: SENIOR 3 MEN, MASTERS 2 MEN, JUNIOR MEN (45 min. + 5 laps)
  • 12 p.m.: WOMEN (1 hour + 5 laps)
    1:15 p.m.: Race 1 – 5 years and under (50m sprint) and 6-7 yr olds (50 m sprint)
    1:30 p.m.: Race 2 – 8-9 yrs old (2 Laps)
    1:40 p.m.: Race 3 – 10-12 yrs old (4 laps)
    1:55 p.m.: Race 4 – 13-14 yrs old (6 laps)
  • 2:15 p.m.: SENIOR 1/2 MEN, MASTER 1 MEN (1 hr 15 min + 5 laps)
