Join us for the Preston Street Criterium TV broadcast

The Tour de France might be dominating the airwaves right now, but you can tune your TV to some local cycling action — and we’d like to invite you to join us for a viewing party!

The Preston Street Criterium airs both Saturday and Sunday this weekend on Rogers TV in Ottawa, and to celebrate we’ve reserved a section of the Prescott on Saturday evening.

Come join us starting at 8:30 p.m. to watch the women’s and men’s races from this year’s Criterium and hoist a pint or three with the organizers, commentators and fellow competitors. The race broadcast starts at 9 p.m.

For those of you who can’t make it, don’t forget to tune in on Sunday at 2 p.m. for a full rebroadcast.

The Prescott is located at 379 Preston St. in Little Italy — right on the criterium course!

2013 registration now open

Registration is open for the 41st edition of the Preston Street Criterium, to be held on Father’s Day, June 16, 2013.

Click here to go to the registration page. Please note that registration closes at midnight on June 13.

The one exception is the popular kids’ races for every age from under 5 to 14. Registration is on-site at Beech and Preston, and costs just $10. Proceeds go to the Ottawa Velodrome Project.

And for the third year, Rogers TV will be on hand to report on this traditional event. The air time will be announced later.
